Austin Backyard Engagement Session – Erin and Doug
Erin and Doug met at Doug’s birthday celebration back in 2013. A former co-worker was married to a co-worker of Erin’s and wanted to introduce them. They ended up meeting and have been together ever since!
Flash forward and here is their wonderful proposal story:
They went on a friend trip at Catalina Island last Memorial day. Doug was acting a bit “off” since getting out of bed one morning. She assumed it was from drinking the night before and gave him some space. They went out on a sunset cruise that evening. Erin remembered Doug was clenching his fists so tight in the photos they took. He said he wasn’t feeling well and it was all throwing off the positive Cali vibes. Later on they were watching a beautiful sunset with their friends. Doug said, “I’ve got an important question for you Erin.” She saw the ring and doesn’t remember anything else. Some of their friends got a video of the whole thing though! They spent the rest of the evening dancing and laughing with each other and their friends.
Doug told us during their engagement session that he was so nervous. You have an engagement ring and you are on a boat and fear that it’s going to fall off. I don’t blame him haha. They wanted an engagement session that was authentic to them. We photographed them one evening in their backyard. They put together a charcuterie board, played with their dogs, and hung out. We love when couples choose to celebrate their engagement that best reflects them. Here is their lovely evening together.
