Caleb and Timothy had their summer Austin wedding at the Mansion (TFWC). This space perfectly fits their classic style. We first met these two during their engagement session within a couple of months of their wedding day. Immediately we felt their affection and love for each other in such a special way. When they first met in high school Caleb was drawn to Timothy’s intoxicating cologne and his compassion towards others. For Timothy, it was Caleb’s fluffy hair, intelligence, and eyes. Specifically how they sparkled in the light. It was 2009 during the welcome back to school seminar. After some awkward small talk, Caleb asked for Timothy’s phone number. After several months of being friends, they officially began dating that fall.
Now to the proposal. They decided they wanted to go to Europe on a long vacation and start in Brussels. After a long weekend in the Belgian countryside watching a Formula 1 race they would then travel to Germany for touristy things. There were dozens of opportunities to propose but Caleb saved it for the last weekend of the trip in Milan. The plan was to propose at the nice restaurant for dinner that evening but the balcony view that was requested didn’t happen. Right before midnight on their 8-year anniversary of meeting, Caleb walked Timothy out into the courtyard of the center of Milan. Right in front of Duomo cathedral, he asked a tourist to take their photo. Caleb ended up forgetting to propose because he was nervous and surprised about the timing. Apparently, the woman took the photo really fast! He had to ask her to take another photo. Timothy was bothered by this and was like, “no seriously, that’s fine we have plenty” and Caleb said, “No, REALLY, she needs to take ONE MORE.” Caleb then knelt down, pulled the ring out, and slid it on Timothy’s finger. He didn’t even ask! Caleb told us, “The ring was completely on before he said yes but whatever I knew what the answer was going to be. This kid loves me” Luckily the live photo of the proposal captured Timothy saying yes in the audio between his heaves and tears.
Honestly, if that’s not the most romantic story ever we don’t know what is. These two have been together for 12 years and it’s been so special to see them get married. Their wedding day was laid back and focused on spending time with their closest family and friends. We simply adore these two and absolutely loved documenting their celebration. Here is their wedding day story along with all the wonderful people who made it happen.
