Anea and Cameron had their Succulent Native intimate wedding in Austin a few weeks ago. Anea goes to Succulent Native almost weekly. She has even become friends with the people that work there and asked if they could get married there. To her surprise, they said yes! Between Cameron proposing and the wedding itself, it was only a few weeks. The wedding was planned quick as they were ready to tie the knot! They both have beautiful vibrant personalities and a love that is so spectacular to witness. Heck, even after their ceremony Cameron kept looking at people saying, “That’s why my wife!” in a million different ways. Anea had a song she sang and had recorded that was played while she walked down the aisle and the parent first dances. It was the sweetest!
Cameron and Anea met in 2014. They both attended the same University at different times. Anea wanted to go to a concert that was three hours away and one of her friends told her this guy Cam was going. Cameron picked her up with two other people in the car. All strangers! Anea noticed he had really great taste in music. They listened to James Blake and she noticed she listened to more of his music after that day. At the end of the night she jokingly told Cam that they should make a dance group and go on stage. He followed her lead and danced around for a few minutes just laughing at how crazy they looked.
Years went by and they hung out with the same group of friends. Cameron and Anea didn’t even hang out alone until two years later. They would go see movies all the time and at one point Cameron moved back home to Delaware and visited her all the time. One day Anea’s best friend Mahlet asked if she liked him. Until that moment she never even thought about it. That’s when everything changed and she saw Cam differently and she feels the same happened for him. Once they knew they liked each other he moved back to Maryland. After a few months he asked her dad to be her boyfriend and 5 months later they moved to Austin!
Now the proposal! The proposal was a total surprise. Anea knew he would be asking soon but wasn’t sure when. They were going to Mueller park to see their friend sing and Cameron thought that was the place to propose. Cam invited their friends with them. They brought their cameras as they thought it would be a great place to take photos. Each of them took turns photographing each other and Anea had her back turned when she heard Cam call her name. When she turned around Cameron was on one knee with a beautiful ring and asked her to marry him. After a second of her trying to figure out what happened she said YES!
Cameron got ready at The Carpenter Hotel which is one of the coolest here in Austin. Their families helped set up their wedding after Succulent Native closed in the evening. The rest of the day was laid back and perfect. It was an absolute joy for us to photograph their Succulent Native intimate wedding here in Austin!
