We were thrilled to photograph this beautiful Woodlands forest engagement session! Rhea and Ajay currently live in two different states and were travelling into Houston one weekend to plan out their wedding. Bradley and I were thrilled to set up their engagement session while they were in town. We absolutely adore these two. Since the moment we started talking with them about their wedding we knew we would continue to adore them. They are both so kind and genuine and their smiles literally light up a whole room, or forest.

Rhea and Ajay met 20 years ago in a boarding school in India when they were 5 and 7. They reconnected on Facebook 10 years ago. Ajay proposed on an island in Thailand. It was a crazy surprise for Rhea. She said she’s usually pretty nosy and all of their friends and family hid it really well. They were walking along a beach and Ajay pointed out a bottle with a note inside. He kept insisting that she check it out. He asked her to open it but she refused to touch it, let alone open a random bottle. After his failed attempts, he opened the bottle and the note. Rhea started to record this moment on her GoPro just in case it exploded. She saw the word “marry” and pretty much blacked out the rest of what he did or said. Ajay continued by putting the ring on her finger while everyone was clapping from afar. She always pictured herself in a long gown all dressed up with an inkling of when she would get proposed to. NOPE. She was in a bathing suit looking like hell instead. (her words!) The surprise and the moment was worth not having a secret photographer in hiding or the dolled up look.
