Surprise Wedding at Vuka Austin - Austin Wedding Photographer

Blair and John’s surprise wedding at Vuka Austin was a celebration to remember! These two didn’t want to do anything flashy and definitely wanted to focus on being around their friends and family throughout the evening. No agenda, no planning, just hanging out. The day started with set up and as their immediate family showed up we began taking group photos. During the last group photo we staged the family altogether when the surprise ceremony was announced. You don’t want to miss these reactions so make sure you look through after reading.

First, we want to share a little bit about Blair and John. They met via OkCupid, chatted for a bit, and then John asked her out on a date. They met at a local bar and talked for hours. Afterwards Blair drove John home so he wouldn’t have to walk in the cold. She thought she would never hear from him again and figured he was just being polite when he invited her to a party the following weekend. John asked if he could cook dinner for her and at that point she figured it wasn’t a total failure after all.

Blair said that she told John she forbid him from proposing because she thought it should be a two person conversation. Not a surprise. However, he did it anyways while they were at Harry Potter World! They designed the ring together which isn’t exactly an engagement or wedding band, the name is TBD. The ring wasn’t finished yet so John bought a ring from the books placeholder and proposed with that. Blair said it was at night and very quiet and inconspicuous. She didn’t throw too much of a fit haha.

Bradley and I really loved meeting up and connecting with them. We love when couples are authentic to who they are and want a wedding celebration to represent that. Vuka Austin was the perfect location for their surprise ceremony and celebration. We love nothing else than to celebrate with the blood and chosen family of those we get to work with.
