Samantha and Isaac love being outdoors so their engagement session at Mckinney Falls State Park was perfect! They travel often and spend a lot of time hiking around with their two dogs. In 2013 they met in college. Both of their roommates were dating each other and they tagged along to a house party they were invited to. The weeks following they continued to see each other. Below is their proposal story.
On the way to see family and friends in NC for Thanksgiving, they took a backpacking trip with their two dogs along the way. They were planning on camping for several weeks before leaving but Isaac turned the whole trip into a surprise. Samantha didn’t have any idea where they were stopping or what hike they were doing. The hike turned out to be a pretty strenuous 6-mile hike to an old 1930’s fire tower and made it there 30 minutes before sunset. Typically they would set up cameras to take photos with each other so they did that as sunset hit. Isaac planted a few acorns around the tower, but one of them was in his pocket with a poem inside. He gave Samantha the acorn and once she finished reading the poem he dropped to one knee. Samantha said it was beautiful!
We absolutely love romantic engagement sessions such as this one. When we initially met up with them we talked about hiking trips together and our love for Big Bend. Can’t wait to head back out there! Samantha and Isaac wanted their engagement session to best reflect them so we did a fun and romantic engagement session at Mckinney Falls State Park. If you are in the Austin area be sure to head out there, it’s one of our favorites!
