Erin and Doug’s Fair Market Austin Wedding was a fully candid wedding day. These two wanted to have a laid back authentic approach to their day which we love. If you don’t remember, we did a backyard engagement session with them last year. You can read more about them there.
Their wedding day started with Bradley photographing the guys getting ready at their house and I (Stephanie) was at The Driskill with Erin and her group. Once everyone was ready we headed over to Fair Market in east Austin to get settled in for the rest of the day. Their ceremony set up was gorgeous with deep blue and purple uplighting and a stunning floral arch. For their ceremony they started with a meditation before Erin walked down the aisle. The one thing we love seeing couples do is making their wedding their own. The meditation was a beautiful genuine touch along with incense burning in the bathrooms throughout the day.
After the ceremony Erin and Doug went off to hang out at a bar together as newlyweds while everyone stayed in the gorgeous backyard area of Fair Market for an extended cocktail hour. Erin and Doug got back from the bar and went over to unbury their bottle of bourbon. This is a southern tradition called, Burying the Bourbon. This tradition is a myth if you bury a bottle of bourbon at your venue 30 days prior to your wedding, it wont rain on your wedding day. Guess what, it didn’t rain! The reception started and there was continuous dancing with beautiful speeches and incredible food. This day was fully candid but we had to pull Doug outside for some ‘portraits’ while his surprise was getting set up. Want to know what the surprise was? Magnifico, a queen cover band was on stage ready to bring this party to the moon and back. This was an incredible experience to witness all the joy and excitement fill the room. THIS is how you party and celebrate your life together.
