The Plant At Kyle LGBTQ+ Wedding
We loved Jess (she/her) and Molly’s (she/her) The Plant at Kyle Wedding! The open space of the venue, stunning grounds, and overall property blended itself perfectly for their wedding vision. Molly and Jess said YES in front of all their friends and family during a beautiful afternoon with the best weather. We actually found out that Jess made their wedding backdrop so when you scroll on through keep that in mind! But first things first, these two wanted a relaxed wedding day to celebrate with those who surround them in their lives. From the moment we walked into the venue, you could sense the calmness all around. Music was playing, snacks were displayed, and you could hear laughter from a distance.
Capturing a first look was a priority for them so they could spend more time after the ceremony with their guests. Typically, after the ceremony and the new feelings of being married, you aren’t going to want to take 15+ group photos. It was so great we were able to capture everything before the ceremony. We ran around with Molly and Jess for some quick sunset portraits so they could return to celebrating with their friends and family.
The entirety of the day was intentional. Family had time to catch up with each other. Friends got to meet up and share stories. The weather was perfect and quiet honestly one of the best days kicking off the season. The bar display had photos of their cats, Frank and Pepper, and dogs, Bently and Flapjack. Everyone enjoyed cocktails and danced the night away under the most beautiful vivid night sky.
So who is Molly and Jess?
Molly and Jess met on Bumble. There was a lot of distance between them geographically, so they began texting and chatting over FaceTime. They quickly realized they were early risers and started having “coffee chats” every single morning. Until Molly moved to Austin where Jess lived, they didn’t miss a single morning. (We obviously had to capture them grabbing coffee during their engagement session) Between Molly’s kindness and authenticity and Jess’ warm eyes and ability to give the best hugs, these are a couple of things that attracted them to each other.
A fun first date story they told us too. Molly’s car accidentally got a boot on it and Jessica was so patient and relaxed about it. She took the situation with a great sense of humor leaving Molly to think, “this is a great person to get in weird, inconvenient situations with.” THIS is who you want to share your life with!
Proposal
Jess proposed to Molly which took her by a total surprise! Jess invited one of Molly’s good friends from Dallas to keep her busy and distracted all day. She told her she’d be at Top Golf all day with her brother and cousins and Molly wasn’t invited. Molly and her friends got back to the house later that evening after having dinner and drinks. The house was very clean, quiet, and dark with a few candles. (so romantic!) She didn’t realize what was going on until she stepped out onto the patio. The yard was strung with twinkle lights and tea lights making a path to Jess! A playlist of their favorite songs were playing. Molly remembers them walking towards each other. She blacked out a little and was grateful for a video! Some of their really good friends were waiting around the side of the house to celebrate with them!
We really love how these two love each other and it was so apparent from the moment we met them. It was a joy capturing their wedding day at The Plant At Kyle!
